SCinet at SC26Teams begin to form in February and are active throughput the year. Potential SCinet volunteers will be asked to identify teams that are of interest, and to confirm they have funding to support time to work on design activities throughout the year, as well as travel to the conference. SCinet is an in-person activity, and SCinet cannot provide travel support.
Contact the SCinet Committee should you be interested in becoming part of the team:
During the week of SC, SCinet becomes the most powerful and advanced network on Earth.
As a volunteer, you’ll join more than 200 professionals from around the globe working together to design, deliver, install, and operate SCinet at SC. Our team members come from educational institutions, government agencies, high performance computing sites, research and education networks, equipment vendors, and telecommunications carriers.
Teams begin to form in February of each year, and meet regularly in the build-up to the SC Conference in November.
Learn more about the SCinet teams that collaborate behind the scenes to build and operate the network.
The Student Volunteers program offers opportunities for individuals currently enrolled as students that are interested in the nuts and bolts of networking.
As a SCinet contributor, your organization participates by donating equipment, software, or services needed to build and support the network each year for the conference.
We invite new and returning contributors to participate in SCinet. The network design for SCinet begins taking shape in March and is finalized in July.
Contributors can support SCinet in several ways:
In recognition of the critical role contributors play in planning and operating SCinet, the SCinet Contributor Program aims to secure and strengthen partnerships with industry and nonprofit organizations. The program also strives to increase the visibility of contributors who support the innovative and cutting-edge technologies displayed each year at SC.
Additional benefits (depending on contribution level*):
*Contribution levels and associated benefits are based on the value of equipment, software, services, and donated time provided in support of SCinet and the SC Conference.
Immensely powerful, insanely fast, connecting the SC community to the world.
